ARL and TÜV SÜD have partnered to provide an ever expanding scope of accreditation for your product certification and field evaluation needs.

Effective January 28, 2011, TÜV SÜD America recognized ARL as a CARAT (Certified After Recognition of Agent’s Testing) Certified Laboratory.  In addition to personalized and attentive customer services ARL offers,  we provide NRTL services through TÜV SÜD America, Inc. "Achievement of CARAT Recognition highlights the efforts and commitment of ARL to deliver the highest quality of service to its customers," stated Gary Richards, account executive of TÜV SÜD America Inc. CARAT Recognition was awarded to ARL after an extensive on-site assessment of ARL’s QMS, testing facilities and adherence to the guidelines and requirements set forth in ISO 17025, general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.  Click here to view the CARAT certificate.

Is the ARL/TUV Listed Mark equivalent to the UL and CSA Listed Marks?

The requirement for a laboratory to test and certify products for sale in the United States is designated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). ARL is a CARAT certified lab partnered with TUV, who is recognized by OSHA as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) in the United States. In a similar capacity, TUV is also recognized as a Testing Organization and Certifying Body in Canada by the Standards Council of Canada. An NRTL functions to provide independent evaluation, testing and certification of any electrically operated product for compliance against nationally recognized standards of safety.

A product bearing the ARL Mark is determined to have met the minimum requirements prescribed by product safety standards. Also, the ARL Mark indicates the manufacturer's production facility conforms to a range of compliance measures and is subject of periodic follow-up inspections to verify continued compliance.
